Pak Lah Set To Step Down On March 08

Pak Lah Set To Step Down On March 09
The sixth United Malays National Organisation (Umno) President, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (Pak Lah) set to step down on March 2009.

Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi is also the Fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia, who is successor of Tun Mahathir bin Mohamad.

Before Pak Lah announced his retire plan, he is under pressure given either outsider such like Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and patriot or even insider Umno and Barisan National (BN).

It is not surprise Pak Lah set to give up his premiership for facing pressure from all around.

Will Ku Li Challenge For Umno No.1?

Pak Lah highlighted the recent Umno Deputy President Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak is his successor. However, will Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Ku Li) challenge for Umno No. 1?

I regard Ku Li, the formal Semangat 46 founder is an opposition man in Umno. He was eliminated while challenging Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in 1987 however he forced Umno declared as illegal by high court. Ku Li was
announced his interest for the Umno top post yet again but failed to garner enough nominations to contest the presidency.

Ku Li criticised Pak Lah's Umno after the 12-General Election at 8 March 2008. This time, Ku Li's rival Tun Mahathir even gave his stand on Ku Li's side.

According to the media, Ku Li contacts Parliament Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. What is Ku Li next move? Will he announces to contest for Umno top post? Will he gain 58 Umno Branches nomination?

Why Najib Is Up Coming Prime Minister?

I couldn't understand why Pak Lah could announced Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak as his Umno No. 1 and Malaysia No.1 successor. Will Ku Li challenge and win in the coming party election? Could Najib still a Prime Minister even though if he loss in party election? Or could Ku Li be the Prime Minister and Najib be Umno President?

Since Malaysia independent in 31 August 1957, the President of Umno is always Prime Minister of Malaysia. Although Malaysian Constitution do not mention Malaysia's government is belongs to Umno, but the cabinet no. 1 is always rule by Umno's President.

Even though, it is not written in BN's constition as well.

So, why Najib is up coming Prime Minister? If BN still ruling the federal government, why not Datuk Ong Tee Kiat become the Prime Minister? Or maybe Datuk Mohd Zaid Ibrahim?

Najib Era = Back To Mahathir Era

As Democratic Action Party President Karpal Singh said:
Najib will lead Malaysia similar like Mahathir.

As a Malaysia resident, I'm worry the suspected C4 user is a dictator.
Will Najib allow Altantunya case being judging fairly on the court?

I do very agree with Anwar urged that we will never heard Najib had never raised issues of reform for a free media,
democratic process,
or given any clue about how he planned to manage the country’s economy.

Although Najib do not get majority support from resident. Eventhough lacking support by BN's member parties. However Najib could get enough of suppoteres within Umno.

Najib Could Be Sixth Prime Minster By Unhealthy Assumption

As I earlier mentioned, if BN rules the federal government, Umno President is usual Prime Minister. As recent situation, I think Najib could get enough supporters from Umno. Ku Li might faces problems in quantites of nomination.

Undeniable, Najib is an influence person in Umno. The support within Umno is sufficient. The objection of BN members parties is negligible.

I could conclude this kind of assumption means Umno is the only party to decide candidate of Prime Minister. Leaders from other's BN members parties are simply the sub-ordinates of Umno.

Umno Traditional Power Transition

Pak Lah announced Najib is up coming Prime Minister. This kind of power transition is typical in Umno which acknowledgment from the people or BN's members parties are ignorable.

Why Muhyiddin Is Najib's Assistance?

They are 4 candidates to contest in Umno Deputy President position.

According to the unhealty assumption, Umno No.2 is Deputy Prime Minister.

Tan Sri
Muhyiddin Yassin proposed himself to support Najib at the future. He is highlighted to be the up coming Tenth Deputy Prime Minister. They are supporting each other as well. Obviously, Najib and Muhyiddin are in a group.

However, Muhyiddin is only one of the four who interest with Umno no.2.
How about Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib,
Datuk Seri Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam
and Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed?

To mention Muhyiddin is coming Deputy Prime Minister is still early and over confidence.

Umno needs Mahathir?

Muhyiddin persuaded Tun Mahathir to return Umno.
Mahathir request Umno to re-accepts members who quit Umno together with him.

Mahathir was usual man who criticism Pak Lah's performance. Although he already retired, but he always forget to maintain quiet.

Actually I already tired to listen to Mahathir who was Prime Minister for 22 years.
Mahathir leads Malaysia facing problems like corruption, lack of transparency's government, miss-using power and constitutional crisis.

I don't know whether Umno need Mahathir.
However for Malaysia's patriots probably will say:
Enough is enough!!!

Pak Lah's Mission Before Stepping Down

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi lists his mission to complete before he stepping down:
Establishing the Judicial Appointments Commission,
Establishing the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission,
Establishing Special Complaints Commission.
Strengthening and enlarging the Social Safety Net to ensure aid to all, regardless of race and religion
Holding a BN convention to improve inter-racial and inter religious relations

Lim Kit Siang: Outgoing PM still in denial

DAP's Parliament Leader Lim Kit Siang said:
"It is sad and pathetic to see Abdullah Ahmad Badawi end his five-year premiership in a mirage - cocooned in total denial."

Lim Kit Siang doubts that Pak Lah complete the "mission impossible" just within 5 months. Pak Lah was failed to complete the missions like
Judicial Appointments Commission and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

Lim Kit Siang also said Pak Lah failed to form
Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission. (IPCMC)

DAP Would Co-operate With Pak Lah's Mission

DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng said
DAP would co-operate with the Prime Minister in his final five months in office to restore the credibility of the judiciary, adopt stringent anti-corruption measures and eliminate abuse of power.

My Opinion: Pak Lah Is A Good PM

As a Malaysia resident, I regard Pak Lah is a good PM.

I could only compare Pak Lah with Mahathir, Pak Lah is more flexibles and gives more freedom to the people.

The freedom such like media and speech.

He tried his best to anti-corruption. He agreed to form IPCMC.
But he lost support even inside Umno. Because money politic is usual in Umno and Polis Diraja Malaysia.

Pak Lah's vision simply is against their benefit. Hence, Pak Lah lost his support and respect inside Umno. Once Pak Lah lost control, Umno people could do what ever extreme they want.

That's why we have Ahmad Ismail.

Umno's arrogant's attitude makes MCA, MIC, Parti Gerakan and others' BN members parties bounced and cause cracking in BN.

Finally, no one listen to the Mr. Right, Pak Lah. Pak Lah underpressure and forced to give up his premiership even earlier than 2010.

In my opinion, someone calls Pak Lah "Bodohwi" is unfair to him. He tried his best to change and reform Malaysia, but do not get obbey from BN.

If he still willing to fight for Malaysia's right, he is free to join DAP.

If he would mention to abolish Internal Security Art (ISA) within this 5 months is most appreciated.
